Maybe I'm at risk of showing my age. Talking about the "value" of a dollar. I remember paying $0.18 per gallon. Pack of Camel regular was $0.25. A brand new Colt's Government model 1911A-1 .caliber .45 was $135.00 USD full retail. Of course if you made $100.00 USD per week that was big money. Now a dollar is worth a dime in equivalent buying power.
Colt gov model $1,499.00 at Cabella's.

Ah the good old daze,even in the early 60s,bought thru the NRA,surplus,1911A-1s were 50 bux,Garands,55 bux,M1 carbines 40 bux,shipped to your door USPS.even here in Kalifornia
