There is enough bullsh*t in politics to fertilize a forest of those trees for a very long time.

This is what I am afraid we are faced with.
I keep hearing this, yet it seems that it's always just cheap talk. I'm yet to meet somebody who is actually willing to sacrifice their children or spend the rest of their life in prison. At the end of the day, for most people life is quite good, so they'd rather play the internet hero from the comfort of their recliners and the discomfort of a bursting belly.

    Gugi,
It Is that kind of rhetoric that is one of many causes of the problems we have in this country. I would pledge my life, my fortune, and my sacred honor to do what's necessary for this country.

I admonish you for calling in to question someones patriotism. People like you only wrap yourselves in the Flag when you have some sort of an agenda.

You have posted about how the country is failing. What are you doing to stop it?

Now, this is rather insulting. Playing a victim doesn't make you one, and neither does it make your insult acceptable.

You certainly want to reread my posts, but at the risk of being yet again patronizing I think I better make this crystal clear and spell it out for you:

I have never suggested civil war, but I keep hearing suggestions that this is the way to solve this country's current problems. The only thing I question is their sincerity that they are actually willing to go that far over what they perceive as the current plague of this country.

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security..."

It would seem that the current "evils" remain sufferable by the citizens of this country. How long a "train of abuses and usurpations" must be suffered by the current and succeeding generations before the Government is "thrown off" remains to be seen.

    Gugi,

Do you even know of the natural rights philosophy pioneered by classic liberals such as John Locke or do you believe that our rights are only found in the what some prince, king, or president bestows upon man.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and wealth are inherent upon the human condition. Our Creator made it such by breathing the first breath into the first man.

Secondly, John Locke stated that man should establish a government whose soul purpose is the uphold what has been given by God.

Finally, if that government fails to do what they have been commanded to by the people, then it the collective right of the people to replace it if by force if necessary.

Please chew on this, and for the sake of decorum leave your patronizing attitude somewhere else.

Yes, I did go to high school and have a basic knowledge of philosophy including Locke.

What do my beliefs have to do with my knowledge? You are suggesting that the only two options for anybody are to be either ignorant, or a nazi.

Meanwhile your failure to adress my previous post has earned you the lack of any further interest from me. Have fun.

Again, I'm just not familiar enough with the actual health care bill to make this kind of statement (yet).
My vague understanding of it was that it provides decent health care to the needy,
puts certain restrictions in place (such as restricting insurance companies from rejecting patients based on pre-existing conditions),
while reducing cost by maximizing the economies of scales & collective bargaining power.
There was something about the death panels, too.

It was my understanding that people could continue paying for their private insurances, as they have been, and continue to get the health care as in the past.

From a layman's point of view, it all seemed dandy as long as the administration delivers on the promise that the new health care plan was self sufficient -
i.e. the additional cost in providing health care to more Americans would be offset by the reduction of medical bureaucracy and
the inefficiency in the health care/insurance system?

What aspect of American health care is going to get worse?
MY GOD !!! Please lat me adress you both one at a time.
!. Pixelfield, if you mean that comment the way I took if,and they ain't Merry christmas. If i took it wrong please enlighten me, and I'sorry.
2.XUZ, the thing that scares me the most IS that ,that IS all you know about this bill, but dig a little deeper and you will see that you were served all the ice cream and candy first, and now my friend ,here comes the broccoli,no butter,no salt. Its late and there is too much to tell,
however PLEASE... look for your self and find out where the money is supposed to come from. (And if you haven't noticed we are in a pretty deep hole)and where it's really coming from, This really amounts to the largest tax hike in history.
    3. And for the rest of you, THEY CAN VOTE !?!?! And that scares the hell out of me. IMHO.

Griz, just for the sake of some perspective...I don't think Xuz is in the states.

It's a tax hike only if you don't have health insurance and refuse to get it...which means you wait until something is REALLY messed up and you go to a free county hospital which is paid for by...you guessed it, taxes.
