Thanked: 1185Ark Construction in Progress
Tropical Storm Debbie is parked over Florida and land sakes our weather is hideous. Nothing terribly hurricanesque just raining buckets and a brisk wind but not fit weather to go do anything. A couple small tornados in the area, trees falling on cars, etc. I've just put dinner on the stove (corned beef and cabbage with corn on the cob) and am hunkered down with a glass of Sangria. Monsoon party underway! Picked up a pouch of Prince Albert but it's not fit weather to go out and smoke so I guess a few healthy pinches of Grizzly snuff will have to do for now.

Stay safe, flash flooding is the number one weather killer.
But, you Floridians know how to handle hurricanes- Jeremy -
A year from now, you'll wish you had started today.

Thanked: 8As long as no one gets hurt, hurricanes and the requisite parties are great things. I think a Guinness would go well here.

The suburb I live in is known for it's high rainfall but this year has been crazy. Lightning strikes & cyclonic winds.
A few trees down 2 months ago & we lost power for about 6 hours.

Wish we had a lil hurricane here... Colrado Springs is on fire.. Literally.. We have people evacuating up in the towns above us... Sucks.. My turkey hunting spot is wiped. All the animals are running from the fire... It's like Jumanji..

Seems to rain most days lately. LOL... Sydney in 2011
Being near sea level winters don't get super cold temp wise, eg low of 4º C the other day but it's so humid it seems to seep into your bones. I didn't feel as cold when I lived in the mountains.
Something I've just noticed is leeches turning up in the garden. Not an invasion but certainly unusual.
Wintchase, living next to a national park , we get bushfires as well but haven't had to evacuate yet.Last edited by onimaru55; 06-25-2012 at 03:27 AM.

Thanked: 1185UPDATE: The winds have picked up, lots of trees falling on people's cars, a few tornadoes, the rain continues to be the big nuisance, lots of roads and bridges closed, lots of houses flooded and lots of beach turning into ocean. Fortunately I live on a higher spot so while my area is pretty soggy, at the moment, my house is at least dry. Most of the day, it looked like things were about to dry up. It was gray and kinda windy all day, then around dinner time, it started raining again. Looks like more of the same until probably the weekend.
