Thanked: 4942RIP Andy Griffith
Thought he would be around forever. I still love watching his shows and Mayberry is definitely a real place.

I grew up watching "The Andy Griffith Show." I loved that show and asked my parents if we could move to Mayberry. He'll be missed.

Most people only think of his TV shows. While I enjoyed them, I loved his movies and standup comedy. In my favorite movie of his, "No Time for Sergeants", he was a goofy recruit who drove his DI nuts. At one point, he rigged all the toilet seats to stand at attention for his Sargent. He was also the original Redneck comic. "What is was, was football" is a great routine. If you have never heard/ seen any of these, you need to. He was great.

It's ironic that I didn't really enjoy The Andy Griffith Show in its prime, but came to really appreciate it as an adult. It was refreshing to see a sitcom with strong moral and family values.
RIP, Andy.
