By the way Frankie, Over here to remove asbestos, they wear space suits, like the CDC. They are scared to death of it.

    The garden city of Petersham.

Actually, in the 50s my grandfather made some extensions around the house and built a garage. It was his material of choice, like many at the time.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

A little asbestos never killed anyone, ha ha ha ha, cough cough cough cough.

I watered it down pretty well and had on my 'Does not protect against asbestos' mask so I think I'll be alright. My grandfather, who put it all up, lived to be 3 months shy of 100.

I am sure it is dangerous but I think they go to extremes with it just like mercury. I have used an asbestos soldering pad as a jeweler for 12 years with my head over what I was soldering all the time with no ill effects and when a kid in school we used to break thermometers and get the mercury and take it to school and play with it on our desk. It will make a penny shine like new. Now they evacuate the school if they find a trace of it and men with space suits come in.
All boys and some girls carried a pocket knife to school and now they get arrested for a finger nail file.
    The world has gone crazy.
Like I said, I know it is dangerous but some people go crazy about it. My house was covered in asbestos siding and we removed it ourselves in the sixties. Threw it out in the trash. Probably not a good idea but we didn't know it at the time.
Anyway, looks like you are a hard working guy. Good to know you.

I remember playing with mercury too - and now that you talk about things people used to do - I really believe a little positive thinking (placebo affect) can make such a difference. After all, people used to take all kinds of poisonous and radioactive concoctions as elixirs and actually reported health benefits! Ha. I'm sure if someone went on the news saying how good they felt after inhaling asbestos people would be lining up to buy it.

Kiddies, don't inhale asbestos. Or play with mercury.

    Smile

    What do I look like?
Many say exactly like my dad and brothers.

    Obviously this is not me.

It's just a picture of me.
Often critiqued for my thin eyebrows.
