Pics or it didn't happen :)
And Mr Keegan, if you have read the first 85 or so pages you will see that your arguement has already been hashed out by both sides.
But, to put it in short for you, inanimate objects are are neither inherently evil nor good. My cast iron frying pan is far more dangerous to my children in day to day use than any of my guns are.
Both are used to feed my family. One is used to obtain meat, the other to cook it.
But both do have the potential to injure people if they aren't careful so I remind my children to be careful of the pan as it is hot while in use and when not in use.can break a toe or little leg if they pull it from the stove.
Same with my guns. When they are out of the safe my children are only allowed to touch them with me around. When my children are playing with friends and those friends have toy guns I have heard my children telling other kids not to point their guns at people. Safety is my responsibility, not the govt's.
The biggest issue in America isn't the guns themselves. Most of the guns that are used in crimes are used by people who are willing to use whatever is at hand. So the real problem is that we have a large group of people who feel that they have nothing to lose and that life isn't worth much. To fix the "gun problem" in the US you would have to fix the education system and job market so that those people are no longer so marginalized that they resort to acting like animals.

Your point, so far, has been nothing but a huffpost opinion along with calling guns murderous inventions.
If you agree with what I said then you agree that guns aren't the problem. There are much larger socio-economic issues at play that must be addressed but those things don't involve the guns themselves.
If you don't agree with what I've said then you agree that a cast iron pan or ball peen hammer or other inanimate is just as horrible an invention as a gun because they, too, have been used by people with murderous intentions for murderous purposes.
