Getting back on topics is a good thing.

Sorry that death statistics make you this uncomfortable. I guess that shows you haven't left your humanity behind. The numbers and deaths make a lot of gun supporters uncomfortable, which I suppose you can take as good or bad.

Thanks for the friend offer but i'm comfortable not friending those who make such conditional offers. Yours, I must say, was truly heartless. I think you owe the group an apology, but that's just my take.

Posts like this could only be written by foreigners, or Democrats. Here in the good old USA. Many of us grew up with firearms, assault weapons, army surplus, 22s as kids and water guns, even which are now politically incorrect. With the amount of guns in this country, you might think it would be a no-brainer that there would be shootouts every night, but there are not. As a matter fact, figure out the number of guns the number of gun owners, and the crimes committed with guns is quite low. As far as the crimes that are committed are committed by nuts or career criminals who will obtain firearms, bombs, or the dreaded black hatchet " black so it's an assault hatchet" but these things are aberrations in normal everyday life here in America. My own personal opinion is that a lot of these kids, for lack of a better word, just pop because of this zero tolerance nonsense they have to live with in school. If they were allowed to go to the gym and put on a pair of gloves and settle their problems like men used to. And The gym teacher as a referee. They could have it out, let off some steam shake hands and go home, friends, or at least with some steam, let off, at least that's what happened when I was in high school, and we didn't use the gym or the gym teacher just a bunch of friends to keep things on the up and up and this stuff just didn't happen. There were still tons of guns, it just wasn't in the mindset of the people then to shoot someone over an argument. Why this is happening today. I can't say, but there are many theories. But the guns don't shoot people by themselves.

You have not been around SRP long enough to know me; that I try to keep things on the light side by adding a little jest or tease from time to time. Keegan , I don't owe anyone an apology on my last post. I'll save my apologies for when I make a mistake; I've got another 49 years to go, so I'm going to need them.

I would still like to hear any first hand accounts of how firearms have played a role in your life, good or bad. If you have any, then I'm sure that I will learn something from them.

If you don't recognize why I said you owed the group an apology, then our values and ethics are pretty far apart ... as far as possible I think. I detest those who defend murderous toys and mock people who has suffered as the result of those toys being readily available. That type of person is the last person who should be allowed anywhere near a weapon since they are fundamentally ignorant of the effect that weapon can have on the lives of so many.

I also disrespect people who disregard facts, regardless of their source.

I appreciate that you tried to reach out and I may be an asshole for declining, bit I just can't do it now. Thanks anyway.
