I predict it will be reversed and she shall have the college of her choice. I know, she did not say the word right, Don't get me started!

Thanked: 247Seriously? Who cares? I can't remember ever needing my diploma. Everything that even asked about it just wanted a check mark. Nobody ever asked me to produce the illustrious document, proving I was capable of showing up on time five days a week for 9 months at a time. Was there something else going on at school besides showing up and making jokes? I just thought it's where we hung out while our parents were at work.

That all depends on what path you are taking in your life. It's true that a lot of folks would echo your sentiment while others (like me) see their high school diploma as the the basic foundation upon which a whole lot of other things rest. To each his/her own, and all that...
But really in this case, I would argue that their decision was ridiculous whether we're talking about a high school diploma, a higher degree, or the grade two spelling bee championship of greater Neepawa. Schools are about teaching, or at least they should be. And in this particular 'teachable moment' the administration's message was that if you step out of line even the tiniest bit, and even by accident, we will crush you like a grape. Way to open young minds there folks.Last edited by Cangooner; 08-21-2012 at 02:50 PM.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Though I agree with basically 99% of your post Cangooner... they do that in University here too!
Two examples that stick out that don't really apply - but do:
We had a guest speaker come in and speak on how to do presentations, job interviews and the such. The one lady was espousing how when you are in front of a group that you don't know rambling off stuff, and trying to be taken seriously that you should not wear any "identifiable" symbols in case it spooks the audience. So in other words - don't wear your Masonic ring to an interview for example.
When I raised my hand and was able to ask her why it was that she was wearing her cross so predominately on her neck then, she turned so red that i thought she was going to pop!! The prof wasn't that happy either that I had just upset his guest so much!
But hey - walk the walk I say, which leads me to a story that sums it up rather well here in the Midwest.
We were taking a class and learning about "something" when the prof asked, "does anyone know from the readings what FIFO means?" None of us had done the readings to know that it stood for "first in, first out." But the silence was too much for one student who blurted out, "Fit in or f@#k off?"
That about sums it upDavid

I think the principal would have been SHOCKED by "Gone With the Wind".. I wonder how he would have reacted to certain classics such as "2 Girls 1 Cup" or "GlassA**" (Warning: You'd be googling these at your own risk - they're not work or SWMBO safe)
