    Default My latest obsession

A few months ago my brother in law told me he had a game he wanted me to play. It caught my fancy and partly is to blame for my recent absence here. Basically you create an RNA sequence that will fold into a given shape. It's easier than it sounds. Check it out if you enjoy working puzzles. It is geeky but/and fun!

I finally bought some Norton hones (again) a few weeks ago. I guess stropping - or my stropping anyway - is not enough by itself to keep my razors and me happy

I just copied this from one of the easy puzzles on your suggested site:

    "'''Science'''

A small hairpin RNA or short hairpin RNA (shRNA) is a sequence of RNA that makes a tight hairpin turn that can be used to silence gene expression via RNA interference. shRNA uses a vector introduced into cells and utilizes the U6 or H1 promoter to ensure that the shRNA is always expressed. This vector is usually passed on to daughter cells, allowing the gene silencing to be inherited. The shRNA hairpin structure is cleaved by the cellular machinery into siRNA, which is then bound to the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). This complex binds to and cleaves mRNAs which match the siRNA that is bound to it.

You've got to be kidding me, hoglahoo. I'll stick to my watching my slurry dry on my PHIG & cleaning my Zippos.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I remember a while back when you linked me to that. This time I did the tutorial, and it makes much more sense. Actually, it's pretty cool. ...and down the rabbit hole we go.
