Thanked: 334Oh, that. I thought you were referring to some really cheesy ads...my bad! Apologies extended to thee.

Thanked: 270Why don't enterprises that can't resolve their labor disputes pay on the revenue it generates instead of fixed income?

In a word... contracts. But I like how you're thinking. Though that might have the negative impact of a poor franchise wishing and or actually prolonging a strike if they aren't making any money anyway. In some markets rent is darn near free for the owners once the accountants are done with the paperwork.

IMO professional sports is not about the fans.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Hockey is the only pro sport that I have gotten into, fan that is. It has only been 3 years for me, but this lock out has taken all the anticipation from me. I have already decided that if the season is canceled that I will put the money into flight tickets back to Vietnam. it has been a while since I've been there. The money will cover our 2 tickets & VISA fees; the rest is not much. The Panthers already have our money for this season, but have to return it , if the season cancels.

Thanked: 334Amongst the players, the ones for whom I feel the most grief are the older ones. Love or hate him, I'd love to watch Jaromir Jagr for one more season. He embarrassed me on occasion, and it mollifies my ego that he did it to current members of the Hall of Fame (Ray Bourque et al.), and can still do it to future members! As a young player, you never realize just how quickly a career fades away.

That is just too damn true.
I'd kill for just one more shift...
