    Come now, remotes have been around for thousands of years. I remember Fred Flintstone had one. When he used it a little bird or something flew out of it and went over to the tv and turned it on or off. You remember those things, right?
    It's just corn syrup... Warm, blood flavored, corn syrup ...

    I remember before the universal remote and what not. You had one for each device. Before that the remote was connected by a wire. The predecessor to that was a large box with a button for each channel. Before that my father would just tell one of us kids to turn up the volume/change the channel/rotate the antenna.

    And before that we had to manually spin the zoetropes at just the right speed. We even had to sit through spinning our own commercials since there was no way to skip past them

    The bartender. I don't have a TV at home, so pretty much the only time I watch TV is at the bar.
