Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Thanked: 2027My grandparents had a small dairy farm outside of monaca P.A
This was back during prohibition,My grandfather had a bunch of modified 20 gal milkcans, had a false top portion that would hold 2 gal. of milk with room for 18 gals of shine below. All was made locally.
My Dad told me about 1 time per/Mo he and gramps would make a late night run up into Canada and haul 10 milk cans of Canadian whiskey back to PA in those fake cans.

Thanked: 1195I think the more important question is what is a young person like you doing starting a thread about alcohol? By my calculations you can't legally drink in your country for another 4 years. Please contemplate this while I grab another beer....

I am originally from a county in Virginia, really close to the NC border. Um, so, just one story. My brother was hitting some strawberry shine hard one night. He had a fifteen minute conversation with a horse.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

These are great stories gentlemen. My only experience with moonshine was Army basic training at Ft. Polk, La. in the mid-60's. First half a day off about 5 weeks into basic we got a off base pass for about 6 hours. Four of us exit the base and the cab driver pulls over and asks if we would like drink, opens his trunk and there are quart mason jars. $2.00 a jar. We drive and sip for about an hour. The scenery is whatever trees with lots of spanish moss hanging off them. We finally pull into
a dirt parking area at what looks like a rundown, fall down old barn. Walk through the entry door and there is what would
pass very well for a Vegas type casino of the time. Crap tables, poker, roulette, and a beautiful bar. Good looking companionship for a reasonable price. What sounded like French accents prevailed. I have no idea where we went or what direction we went in. Back at base, late and not feeling good, the D.I. thought we could go ahead and dig two 3' x 4' "graves" for a couple of cigarette butts he tossed on the ground. It was pouring rain.Bob
