    Default Dr. Who Fans Cheated!

Am I the only Dr. Who fan who feels totally cheated by the fact that this season is already over, after only 5 episodes? First of all, it didn't start untilthe end of the summer and then it's over in just over a month! In my opinion, that really sucks!

I thought it was 4 episodes.

That is really outrageous. We only get a percentage of the actual shows anyway and I think last year was the first we saw the xmas show here.

They are just playing games with us. The next time the crew comes to the U.S we should deport them all.

I agree. We should send them back to Gallifrey.
If we're only getting a portion, how many episodes are actually produced?

A British member can correct me if I'm wrong, but....

In Britain the t.v. shows don't have seasons, they have series. Most series that I collect tend to have, on average, around six episodes, so that is likely all she wrote for that Dr Who "season".

Of course, you can always look it up in wikipedia to confirm.

The last two seasons (series) have been two part affairs. For example, I bought Dr. Who series 6 on dvd, I had to buy series 6 part one, and then later and separately, series 6 part two.

Walking Dead was the same way, two part season.

That might be what you're dealing with here.

I didn’t get to watch this most recent series on tv, because I got fed up with commercials and such and canceled cable a couple of years ago. I just buy things I want to watch on dvd now.

This series is another split one. We have had the five episodes as you say, ending last Saturday with the Ponds' departure. (Never did like her though I thought the glasses suited her in the last one!)

There is a Christmas episode coming as usual, probably Christmas Day as for the last couple of years, where the new companion arrives properly. She was in an earlier one of this series. Very easy on the eyes! Next year there are some more episodes in the spring.

The Beeb have been doing this with DW for a few years now. We do have much shorter series generally than you do over there but I like to think we go for quality over quantity!

What you would call a season, we call a series. Interchangeable really. It's been a long time since our tv schedules changed by the season but I can't recall them ever being called seasons. Even now though, the mid summer tends to be a lot of repeats!
