Thread: What's your Sustaining Daydream

In my fantasy, someone fixes the wiki. Now stop daydreaming and get back to work! hardy har har har
Actually it's an interesting question I guess I don't have an answer too. On the one hand maybe I'd like to live sort of a lucid dream where the only limits are my own imagination. On the other hand maybe that would eventually leave me empty, knowing that my influence on anything is never genuinely reciprocated - maybe everything should be left as it is and I treat my life as though it is whatever I want to make of it in the face of continuously unpredictable fortunes and setbacks. But then that's not really so fantastic is it?
So maybe in conclusion, if the saying is true that ignorance is bliss - I'll take being forever ignorant. I'm already halfway thereNow back to my lucid dream where the wiki works
edit: changed my mind. I'll play great golf, not worry about anything, and enjoy a perfect little private resort on some perfect little beach with my perfect little wife for the rest of our long, healthy, and happy lives. And everything else in the universe is just dandy and leaves me alone. Well, except my perfect kids can come visit and bring us gifts every week or so. Oh and and and.... :P Back to reality!

Thanked: 334False modesty aside, I suppose one could say I've already lived the dreams of other men.

Thanked: 334Since I didn't earn the privilege of drinking champagne from Lord Stanley's mug, my next goal is to win the SRP Silver Strop Award!

Oh, and as epic as my first dream is... I would trade it in a heartbeat for one thing.

Thanked: 884"Sea-Fever"
I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.
By John Masefield (1878-1967).

If I could live on the sea for a year or two - I would feel as blessed as you Wullie.

I've lived and worked either by or at the sea for most of my life. Ain't such a bed of roses. Just like someone said:some days are made of diamonds and the some are of stone.
Can't say anything about my day dream, guess i'm happy enough for now. Could be better, could be worse. As long as i'm healthy, kids are doing ok and the old lady seems to be ok then i can live with the rest there is to come.
