    Default Banning the Pole

Stole this from a Facebook post... not sure how I feel. Old school barbers in my opinion are going the way of the dodo here in the states. What do you think?

    Default Banning the Pole

I'm 52, when I see this I expect to be able to get a haircut or a shave. If I can get that in a hair saloon I don't care if they use the pole. However, if I can only get a haircut and no shave, then that to me is mis-advertisement. Double O

I gotta agree with the Barber's on this one,,, A Hair Salon is not a Barber Shop IMHO

Yep. You cannot leave em outside anymore or someone will steal them. I have read where they evolved from just red stripes which signified blood running down an arm from the days when barbers were also "bloodletters". I suppose it is no longer "PC" to have them. That's why I have my own to look at!

I have begun to change my mind. That pole should be reserved for "real" barbers. After watching this video... well, dang Gents! Why isn't this guy in my town!?!

It's a long video and when you have 36 min to "waste"... wow!

And hair stylists are not barbers.

Honestly if I see a pole I expect to see prices for a hair cut, shave, and beard trims. If I see a stylist with one outside their shop I am going to ask for the price of a shave.
Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

When I see one of these, I run in, get a hair cut, need it or not, & ask if they have any old hones or straight stashed away.
