Rich, I had awful stomach problems when I was younger, things that kept me out of school and home a lot. I have also had a hiatial (sp) hernia, and an esophigal ulcer. I was in so much pain at times with stomach problems that the only thing that would allow me to keep breathing without screaming was morphine at the hospital. The bad news was that doctors were never able to figure out what exactly was causing the pain, even though I went to the best doctors around, the good news is that at around 18 or 19 everything just seemed to settle down and stop, and I havent had problems since. Doctors say this happens for some reason after puberty or during the teenage years when somehow the body just seems to move on. I hope, that your son doesnt go through what I went through, but hopefully regardless of the problem he will grow out of it as well.
