Scary practical joke
Don't know if you guys have already seen this. It is one of the most awesome and scariest practical jokes ever. The girl they picked for this, and the way they dressed her up is just perfect. I think I'd pee myself. And while I appreciate the creativity that went into this, I cannot help but wonder that if someone has already had an experience with an unexplainable event, this would blow them off their feet and straight into cardiac arrest.

That setup reminded me a lot of the trailer for the first episode of walking dead. For those who don't know: walking dead is a tv show about a post apocalyptic world where a virus has turned the majority of the population into actual zombies. I've lost interest in the show, but the first episode was really strong. Anyway, this is the clip I meant:
The Walking Dead "Little girl?" - YouTube
There is one little detail that makes this scene really chilling, and which is also used in the video of in my first post to make the appearance of the child even more scary. The doll. Walking dead girls are scary enough, but to me, the doll / toy is the detail which makes the whole bone chilling imo.
At first I didn't understand why, but I think now I know. As horrible as the idea is of a dead girl ghost or a zombie girl, if there is nothing more than that, we can at some level rationalize that the girl has become something else. In case of the zombie especially, without the doll you can see her as nothing more than something that is walking around on auto pilot. With the doll, you get the feeling that even though the girl has become something else, part of her is still there.
And the part that is there is scared of what she has become, alone, and clinging to the only emotional anchor / solace she has left like a desperate child and their favorite plush toy. The doll not only amplifies the horror of the entire situation, but it also stops you from dismissing the girl as a soulless entity.
At least that's what I thought of it. It's that detail which for me takes both scenes to the sublime.
