Thanked: 1587Well I know it is a charity linked with a commercial enterprise, but I have a lot of time for this one: The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal: 15 Nov - 24 Dec 2012 > About
Seeing people go buy a present for someone they don't know and put it under that tree really warms my heart around this time of year.

It's not an internet story, but I saw a man and wife buying presents for the local Hospital, Sheriff's Office & Police Department's for the kids that will become homeless during the holiday season because mom & dad can't get along or needed to drink to much...
Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated...

A local DJ in MN always does cool christmas drive they get a ton of donations and take letters of families that, through no fault of their own, have fallen on hard times, had a terrable accident or some medical incident that would ruin christmas. They take as many of these nominations as possible and the community supports these people on hard times. The radio station doesn't take a cut they just work like they would all expenses come out of normal operations and they just work to give. It is pretty cool.
