This whole discussion reminds me of the old joke about Joseph's statement to Jesus:
"You just better be the son of god, little man!" :roflmao
Or Joseph's co-workers comments on "Immaculate Conception:"
"Hey, Joseph, how's the son of god?" :rofl2:
Now, I'm not saying Mary was easy, or that Joseph was stupid/gullible, but come on!!!
So are you saying that anyone who has any faith or religious belief is stupid? Don't get me wrong, I don't like people preaching their beliefs and stating that mine are wrong, the same as I don't go around preaching mine. But is that really any different than saying that because someone believes in a higher power that they're stupid?
Well Gent's I guess I should have kind of figured that the whole, "is god real" debate would come up and frankly - I am not sure that's going to take us anyplace other than one of those I feel - you prove - I can't prove - hence your feelings are dumb kind of things... Which will only hurt the whole forum as a whole me thinks.
Having faith is great, and not having it is great too. Debating if faith has a place in government institutions is a good thing, but debating if having any or none I have found - never gets us anyplace other than bolstering one's view.
Scandal! Govenors Jim McGreavey, Eliot Spitzer, Mark Sanford, and now Sam Brownback!
Just that whole little thing about "Inalienable rights" is dependent upon a higher power. If there is no higher power, then where'd those so called inalienable rights come from? Who or what gave them to you? And if they didn't come from a higher power, then they aren't really inalienable, are they.
Sure they are.
