Thanked: 8I have a private pilot license. Got it about 12 years ago and currently have 600 hours, mostly in Cessna 172SP and ArrowIII. I enjoy it very much and, as a 65 year old, think it's a good thing for my brain. Lots to do up there. But hey...if I can do it anyone can.

Thanked: 884I have an SEL "license". Probably around a 1000 hours total and maybe half of it logged. Most of my time flying was in experimental and old "tube and rag" tail dragger stuff. Most of that time was spent doing crazy things that involved flight in "unusual" attitudes ( acrobatic stuff and silly stuff).
Damn wonder none of us were killed. One of the old bunch is in a wheel chair for the rest of his life due to a mishap involving an unplanned and unscheduled interface with the ground whilst flying upside down. He was practicing inverted flat spins and let it go a couple of turns too many before he recovered. The ground ALWAYS wins.
Haven't flown anything in over ten years now other than this computer. I can crash it all I want to and it doesn't hurt a bit.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.
