what was so sad? I think it was a good, healthy debate...what was sad was that it was stopped...and when it was stopped...
I'm assuming we're all big boys and have our emotions mostly in check.
Let the the least rational and most hysterical show themselves.
Religion and politics are what did it.
Avoid these two topics and all should

..In my opinion, the "moderator(s) in this case should simply be blown out, for lack of "moderation". "Problem" solved.
I agree that moderators have the right and even obligation to express themselves here, but it is also especially dutiful to do so on the very best behaviour. They are representatives of the site and should be trying to resolve conflict wherever they post, not insite it. If a member is going off track, then they have the authority to try and quell it.
This is rare for SRP and I'm glad about that. I hope procedures can be put into place to make it nearly impossible. I love this place and would hate to see what I love about it slowly ruin as it appears to have on other sites.

Am I nuts, or what? They have neither the right nor the obligation to express their personal bias... and that what opinion is, isn't it?
It seems to me that a "moderator" ought to ensure neutality and fairness in a debate or dialogue...and would be loathe to reveal his personal bias, as it would be a fault in a moderator.
Hey, I'd love to get rid of the censors alltogether...or at least agree on public terms of censorship..after all this is the internet, isn't it?
