I was trying to stay out of this as I have no idea what the solution is either, however if you have properly trained personnel in schools who are carrying weapons. No one ever need know, unless they are needed in which case it would be a blessing. Secondly, I been on this planet for 57 years and this kind of stuff didn't happen in my youth. Back then there were just as many guns and even more kids with 22s and other hunting rifles and even handguns where permitted, but nobody went off the wall and started trying to take out as many people as they could. No one seems to be addressing this and I certainly have no idea why it's happening but until 1966 when Charles Whitman climbed up on that tower in Texas and started shooting people it was a total aberration just something that never happened before and didn't happen for a long time afterwards, and at autopsy. It was found that he had a brain tumor, which may or may not have contributed to his actions. Nowadays, it seems these cowardly psychopaths actively seek out of place where no one can shoot back and try and take as many with them as possible. If you notice none of these nuts decide they've had enough of drug dealers on their corners and go on a rampage to kill them. And the only reason I can think of that happening Is That They Shoot Back. So not only are these people mentally ill, but also cowards and in the case in Connecticut. I think what we saw cant be described any other way, as the appearance of Evil, plain and simple. Evil exists and must be confronted by those of us brave enough to do so.
One thing that struck me is the zero tolerance for violence in the high schools maybe adding stress to young men that might be better served by taking their grievance to the gym teacher putting on a pair of boxing gloves go a few rounds and then shake hands. Maybe they would blow off some steam and find out that they're not that different after all. Remember the days when if you got into a fight and you said uncle. The fight was over and that was it. Something has changed in this country and in my opinion it's changed for the worse. Just my two cents
