Holy moly! It looks like the kid dropped 3 feet. I guess that should be a lesson to parents not to dress their children in cute fuzzy little animal hats.

I've read several reports that the video was a fake.
There are several problems with it, iirc.
One was the way the wings moved, the way the wingtips move, and the other that if a golden eagle grabs something, the claws exert 750 psi on each talon. Such claws penetrate skull bone. Total lack of damage and blood is highly suspicious.
EDIT:
It's a hoax

Maybe the child was wearing body armor, besides it's on the internet so it must be true.

One time, while hiking here in Utah, I saw something sticking out of a large golden eagle's nest. I climbed up there to see what it was, and it turned out to be about a 40 lb mule deer fawn. So, even though this vid is fake, a full grown eagle does have the strength to pick up a small child.

True. Though I expect that whether the child gets dropped or not, once those talons have dug in, it's pretty much dead.
Personally I think a condor is even more awesome

No doubt a hoax. When an eagle, or any bird of prey hits it is with impact. They strike in the true sense of the word, with great velocity. As Bruno said, the talons exert great pressure puncturing the prey and between the impact and the wounds the prey is disabled and in shock. IMHO.
