Thanked: 1Fishermen..Looking for new rod and reel
Ok, I primarily fish for walleye in the St. Clair River, Lake St. Clair, and Detroit River. I'm looking to try jigging this year as opposed to dragging crawler harnesses.
I'm looking for a new rod and reel combo..preferably made in the USA. I have a Gift Card to Bass Pro Shop, so something I can purchase there will be a big plus.
I'm looking for a 6' 6" or 7' ML with a fast action. I prefer spinning rods and reels.
What should I look at? St. Croix, Falcon, BPS Extreme or Pro Qualifier, etc..? I'd like it keep it at $100 each for rod and reel.
Thanks,
Ray

Ray the St. Croix AS68MXF 6' 8" Medium extra-fast 6 - 12 3/16 - 5/8 3.9 4 is a great rod for this, It's a bit more than your budget ($160.00) but for this technique the rod will benefit you much more than the reel. You need all you can get in that current. Take a trip to BPS and find a reel that suits you, I personally am a Shimano fan.
I fish St. Clair allot but chase smallies instead.
