Thanked: 4249Your First Car!
I was thinking with having members all over the place that his could be an interesting thread, showing off your first car, even better if you have a pic. That said here's mine!
1963 VW bettle, 1200 engine, 6 volt electrical system, great running car but living in the norteast perhaps not the best vehicle in winter time with barely any heat, no fan no defrost, but it worked fine for a few years.
The pics are not my actual car but it looked exactly the same i found these on google images.Last edited by Martin103; 12-30-2012 at 08:54 PM.

My first car was a 1974 Datsun 610, not the one pictured, but almost identical. I was 17 when my dad and I bought it in the late eighties. Had to do some minor body work, engine was clean, and got a new paint job for Christmas that year. I miss that car.

Thanked: 11851975 MG Midget similar to the one pictured
It was a complete POS the electrical system was horrendous, my ignition key was a stubby flathead screwdriver (always fun when your pulled over by the cops and have to shut of the car with a screwdriver). All that said though, when it was running it was absolutely a BLAST to drive. Fast as the wind and cornered like it was on rails. The guy I sold it to before I left for the Philippines said he was going to put a V8 under the hood. Don't know if he was ever successful but if he was, Man! what a screamer that would be.
My OPS Officer in the Philippines had a Datsun 240Z with a V8 under the hood. That car absolutely moved at the speed of stink.Last edited by 1OldGI; 12-30-2012 at 09:36 PM.

My first car was a 1970 Chevelle SS. I had it through high school and college and after. Sold it in 1987.

Your First Car!
1967 Mustang with a straight 6
3 speed manual, manual steering, manual brakes.... It was a workout just going to the store lol.
Loved that car though. Minimal bondo, overall it was in great condition with everything original.
A snow storm and bad judgment lead to its untimely demise with a tree. I'll see if I can post up a pic when I get home later.

My first car after i got my license at the age of 18 (30 years ago) was Opel Kadett B 1967.
However, i grew up with my grandparents at the country. Old man had the repair shop for cars, trucks, agricultural engines and whatever so i had the 'pleasure' of driving some old junkies at the back roads years before legal age. There was not much cops around back then.
I remember at least Morris Mini, must have been 62 or 63, Moschwitz 63 with steer column shifter and Impala 62. Few motorcycles. Wonder i didn't kill myself with them.Last edited by Sailor; 12-30-2012 at 09:46 PM.

Your First Car!
A silver 1981 Plymouth Champ, two-door hatchback. It was a 4-speed stick shift, all manual (doors, windows, locks, etc.) no air condition, AM radio only. I loved that car.
