Actually I stole that quote from Mark Twain. He was on a world tour and some newspapers printed that he had died. He sent them a telegram (remember those) saying,"The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated."

As far as the OP, when you get old it is hard to remember who died ...... I find myself asking 'is so and so still alive?' all the time.

It's been my experiance that Wiki isnt the best resource for the truth....lot's of goofy stuff on it though
