Thread: A wet shaver and gentleman

Hi there

I'd like to share a little story that happened to me here on SRP.

A couple of weeks ago I got in touch with a member here in the forum. It was about some razor gear that I had and he was interested in buying. So we agreed on the deal.
I am the type of guy who believes in the good in humans so I sent the stuff and told the buyer that I expect his payment after he received the goods. Since I am in Switzerland and the buyer in the US, shipping is not that straight forward. The price agreed was such that a shipment with tracking would have pretty much doubled the price. Therefore, I sent the items as letter, being aware and willing to take the risk myself.

Now, some two weeks after the stuff left, the buyer did still not receive it. Well, shit happens I thought. I sent a PN to the buyer that I had not much hope that he will receive it and that I consider it a loss. What I got back instantly was this:

Dont give up yet, it took 3 weeks for me to get a razor from germany ,I'll keep you posted,and if it dosnt come soon I'll split it with you so you dont have to take all the loss,after all, we belong to the same club

What shall I say ... Here we are, two guys 6000 miles apart not knowing each other and with only a very faint tie which is the passion for wet shaving. Leaving me left with the problem would not have had any consequences for him. But he decided without hesitation that we're in this together.
Some may say that this goes without saying and for the largest part of us this may be the case too. Yet, I believe this is worth mentioning. And it leaves a very good feeling that there are such fine gentlemen in this community which I am proud to be part of.
