Default A good read for veterans, or maybe psychology folks.

I Miss Iraq. I Miss My Gun. I Miss My War. - Esquire

I just wanted to share this. It's worth a read.

I've become old and civilized since but I can completely relate to itching to deploy and missing being deployed. It sounds crazy to normal people but as they say, If an explanation is required none will be adequate, if you've lived it, no explanation is necessary.

    I read the 3 pages.

Anyone who rides a fast train in life, then disembarks, misses it after a while. Your standing beside the tracks wondering where the guys are going & how they are doing.

There is a reason why your standing beside the tracks & no longer riding the fast train; your time is up.

I wish he would re-enlist/return, then someone over there who wants to come home, can.

The young man should careful with his thoughts; sometimes God punishes us by giving us what we wish for.

Know that feeling well. Been out since Desert Shield. Every time the flag goes up, I get that feeling...

That is a very visceral, powerfully-written article. I'm not a veteran, but found it very thought-provoking.

I want to go most every day but the wars have changed and so have the soldiers.
Today it looks like they're sending out kids, I know we were young once too, but somehow I feel we were "older" when we were young!
Luckily no PTSD for me, don't know why, just lucky I guess!
