Espresso machine's leaking water, maybe someone can help - video ...
Hi All!
I could use some help, my La Cimbali Junior DT 1 is leaking. I guess it's the over flooding valve that's wrong somehow, slowly dripping water from it (I guess it's a over flooding valve?) and if I pull the spring (attached to the valve) it bursts out water, but then keeps on leaking water slowly:
If I cut off the water the leak stops, but I guess the boiler still's full, since I can get it to pull a shot even though the water line's shut off ...

It probably just needs a new gasket, I would think it to be a rather easy thing to fix. Here's a link to the Home Barista website. I only did a cursory search for your machine. The info doesn't speak specifically about your issue, but if the place is like SRP I am sure you'll find an answer there if someone here can't help.

Thanked: 498Looks like a standard pressure relief valve Mikael. While they are a very common replacable part I would recommend going to the O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacture) to get the replacement part. Then you know for sure it will be the correct unit.
Good luck Hope you like instant coffee for a while Har!!!

Cheers Tarkus! I'm afraid it's not an option, instant coffee
I got a suggestion that sounds sound - descaling (if the over flow monitor on the boiler can't "see", due to scale, it won't stop the water from overfilling) ...

Thanked: 498From your video it looks like the leaking is coming from around the valve, so it could be as simple as a thread adhesive such as a Teflon tape to close the leak.

Cheers Darl! Well, I think the valve does it's job, the water shouldn't be on top of the boiler to start with (only steam should be there).
