Yes, but maybe less than a few months ago. There are also people who wait at Walmart for the trucks to come in and buy to resell at a profit. That might be the bigger problem. I did talk to a Cabelas salesman and he personally knows someone with 725000 rounds of 22lr, but they were hoarding long before the big shortage. Having that much is just crazy

At one time, I had about 500,000 rounds of 22 ammo in my basement.
This all was spent in 2 years. My dad ran the last gallery in Coney Island. There were usually 7 guns on the counter, and another 7 in reserve, and enough spare parts to build 10 more. So lets say for the sake of "my memory is bad" that there were 30 rifles, all in use since at least 1960.... 35 years, at 250,000 a year = 8333 rounds, per rifle, per year or 291,666 rounds per rifle over its lifetime. Show me a commercial grade rifle made today that can withstand that!

Do you remember the brand and model of those rifles? Was the ammo the type with out powder (or very little) made just for shooting galleries? That's really some serious round counts for those rifles and really says something about their quality!!

There were two styles of rifle. Remington "Speedmaster" for the semi auto (tube fed, 14 round capacity) and the Winchester 62A pump action.
