This all was spent in 2 years. My dad ran the last gallery in Coney Island. There were usually 7 guns on the counter, and another 7 in reserve, and enough spare parts to build 10 more. So lets say for the sake of "my memory is bad" that there were 30 rifles, all in use since at least 1960.... 35 years, at 250,000 a year = 8333 rounds, per rifle, per year or 291,666 rounds per rifle over its lifetime. Show me a commercial grade rifle made today that can withstand that!
