    Default Daughter's first pocket knife

My oldest turns 8 soon, and I had promised to give her her first pocket knife. After consulting with her on the color, we finally settled on the Wenger Scout. I have a Wenger as well, and they're solid knives.

They also have a kids version where the knife doesn't have a point, which is silly imo. I want her to have a real knife because she's got to learn that knives are dangerous. Teaching someone that knives are safe is imo missing the point.

    Thanks Bruno for sharing.

My daughter received a red Swiss Army knife for her birthday which is very similar to the Wenger. It is one of her favourite treasures.

I like it when kids get knives and are taught how to use them, they should learn to relate to them as tools, not as weapons!

I especially like the scissors on the wenger, because they use the back spring for scissor tension.
Victorinox uses (or used to in the past) a simple spring that would often slip from between the legs of the scissors. I suppose Wenger had a patent on that or such, because the wenger system is superior by far to the old victorinox system.
