Thanked: 3228Interesting words considering this Making Economic Sense and the whole poll tax mess. Much of the ground work leading up to the financial crisis in 2008 was laid by the leaders who started the financial deregulation process. Leaders such as Regan and Thatcher.
I am sorry to hear of Thatchers passing, or anyone's for that matter, but her legacy is not something I am enjoying dealing with now.

May you rest in eternal peace. Your contributions to Britain will provide excellent lessons to all who follow you as Prime Minister if they are wise enough to learn from your examples.

Thanked: 67I'm British, and I grew up in the Thatcher era, which was an unmitigated disaster.
I'm not remotely sorry she's dead.

Hey guys,
The death of a political notable figure is going to get people feeling one way or another.
And with notable politicians, they do good things for some people, and bad things for others. Mrs. Thatcher is no exception. She did good things and bad things.
So please don't let this thread devolve into a shouting match from the top of a soap box. There is a time and place to duke it out over political figures, but their death notice is neither.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 1587Hear hear. I am fairly sure the OP's purpose was to inform us about the death of Ms Thatcher, not spark the usual left/right "banter" that accompanies political threads. Yes, she was a famous Tory leader, but the main issue here is that she is dead.
So RIP Margaret Thatcher.
