Thanked: 9Proud parent
My daughter won the spelling bee in her school today. She is in 4th grade, and the competition was for the 3 best kids from each grade 3 through 8. This is a school record - never had someone so little win the school comp
Just wanted to brag a bit
Cheers

It's awesome when your kids do well, especially when it's school work!
Be careful though, my mum always said "Never brag about your children cause you don't know what they've just done or what they're about to do."

Thanked: 9So true - I was thinking about this... It was more of sharing with the community, not so much bragging, but I know what you're saying. I think I am guilty of "bragging" with my kids sometimes - but not too bad, I hope. I'll watch out more, though
Cheers

ps I am not even big on spelling, I prefer kids to learn to think, not cram words

It wasn't a criticism at all. I'd be doing exactly the same and it's always nice to hear others good news.

Ivo,
As the parent of a child who has also done something similar, I congratulate you. I'm guessing that she is an avid reader! My 4th child started reading very early, and comprehending. In kindergarten, she was sent to the reading class with 2nd grade. I thought that was great until they tested her, and in kindergarten she was reading on the 8th grade level. She doesn't exceed in all subjects like this, but now she is in the 7th grade, and thankfully, still reads everything in sight. Now, if my SON would just pick up a book...any book, even a comic book!
Congratulations to you and your daughter!

The winning word was furlough, before this was beleaguer.
Randy - wow, this is great! As you guessed, we are all avid readers (hm, I was, before I started spending so much time reading, buying, and working on razors )
Cheers
