I wouldn't be worrying about this. The logistics of collecting the tax would be daunting. Transactions between people? How do they know? Force Eboy to collect tax? Eboy isn't the buyer or seller. it would be like going into a mall to buy a pair of pants and they force the mall to collect the tax not the store where you bought it from. It would affect mostly retailers selling on-line to folks and many already charge tax if they have a presence in your state.

It's going to kill home-based internet businesses if it passes. Imagine an elderly couple who want to earn a little vacation money by becoming an online retailer. They will have to hire people to accommodate taxing and reporting. Sales will go down because they have to charge more. They sell things I can't get locally.

True, but look how well they managed the other money they stole from us all- rat bastards! I guess the days of dodging the ridiculous taxes on tobacco are coming to an end too. Call me crazy but I just have a hard time with $46 for a tub of Prince Albert.

As has been said, implementation of this will be a huge pain. I understand the govt. is loosing out on a pile of money to internet sales but how much will setting up the bureaucracy to enforce this nonsense cost us all? Looks like once again, we're paying for something that we don't want.

Since when is the government concerned with right, wrong or logic?

People who do less than one million in sales are totally exempt from the taxing requirement. Also the tax won't dissuade anyone from shopping on-line as opposed to going into an actual store. The overhead difference is way too big for the actual stores. The fairness thing is just a straw dog. it's all about the states wanting their tribute.
