If it works, don't fix it ? New ebay international shipping policy ........
Gotten stuff and shipped stuff all over the globe but now this. I'm betting ebay owns the shipping company that will handle the transactions.
Provisions regarding Global Shipping Program. We added provisions describing the Global Shipping Program, through which we may make your domestic U.S. listings available to international buyers. For items that are located in the United States and that you sell through the Global Shipping Program, you will simply ship the sold item to a parcel processing facility located in the United States, where a third party global technology and shipping provider will oversee the processing, customs clearance, and international shipment of the item to the buyer. Buyers will pre-pay all applicable shipping and import charges during checkout and will benefit from international tracking of the item from the parcel processing facility through delivery.

Thanked: 3228I will not buy from anyone using this system. I have gotten screwed before with "brokers fees" charged by a courier service which is what I am betting they jobbed it out to. They can kiss my moonlit butt. Can you tell I am not impressed?

Thanked: 270I've never sold anything, but when I buy something internationally the negative feedback I get is about PayPal.
Several sellers threatened to cancel the transaction if I didn't pick up the PayPal fees. They weren't nasty at all about it, they just thought that these fees offset any benefit received from the transaction. I sent them the difference.
I have PIF'd a few things internationally and when I list it as a gift at least one recipient complained that he was charged a luxury tax by his postal service. If I had marked it as goods he wouldn't have stood the charge.
What I don't want is to be pressured to lie about my transactions. Tell me how much you're out, and I'll decide whether to pay the fees or cancel the sale.

Thanked: 3228You know I have never understood some people whining about duties/taxes payable if any are due. You know that is a possibility with any international transaction you do. Take that into consideration before buying.
The thing that gets me is that if you use UPS, FedEx or what have you the brokers fees these jokers like to charge are insane. You don't get hit with that going by the postal service and it goes through Customs just the same.

Thanked: 247I don't see anything wrong with it. International buyers would probably like a tracked shipment. I've sold overseas as well. The packages are never tracked beyond customs, regardless of how much extra I pay. If I could pay extra, and get honest tracking, I'd be happy.
