    Default 9/8 Custom Slotted Non-folder

    Gents,

Another one off the bench last night. This one is a 9/8 non-folder in O1 hardened to 60HRC. This is my first razor larger than 8/8 and I used a 8mm flat stock as a base to get the bevel angle right. It is reasonably hefty but with the material removed from the blade in the form of the slots it is surprisingly nimble. It shaves well although I'm not sure I like the 9/8 yet .
The toe looks nasty but it is muted and 'reasonably' safe, also very good at getting to the hard-to-reach places .

    Again, thanks for looking.

    Stu

That is a beautifully menacing razor. It looks like it is right out of a science fiction deep space movie!

Bob's got it. I think I saw one of those in the Flash Gordon Serials, 1930's, fighting the Ming!!

    Seriously nice razor and craftsmanship!!

Love it! I don't know why, but I'm drawn to the filework on the tang. Somehow it reminds me of Star Wars.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
