Thanked: 68Plain Jane and well... her brother
This is my first time posting in the gallery, and actually only my second and third razors I've made thus far (the first one isn't technically finished it was my guinea pig).
I've said it a couple times before, but I'm a knifemaker and a request by a customer led me to this wonderful place. The top one is the customers. It's taken me a little while (which I warned him about) but I wanted to be sure I could provide something that did more than just look like a razor, and it does, I had a very rewarding shave with it last night.
O1, 6/8, with white micarta scales as requested, he wanted something simpl
The lower one: O1, 6/8, with G10 and Carbon Fiber scales.
I just got this one back from a generous moderator here who offered to try it out and give me some critiquing. There are some things that needed changed and whatnot that mostly I neglected out of ignorance. But I continue to learn more and I'm sure the process will/can always be improved upon. But all that aside he said he was quite surprised and got a pleasant shave out of the deal.
I've got a batch of 3 more that are in the works and I'm sure as these past ones have, they will only get better. I'm hoping to take them to a show I'm planning on attending in October, and have additional ones to add. And once again I appreciate everyone here, there help/advice, and thanks for looking!
not sure why the picture is so grainy...Last edited by wynndow; 08-02-2013 at 03:09 AM.

I like ‘em! While I’ve never made a razor I’ve always admired those who can!!
One thing about this forum that I absolutely love is the willingness to help others out! Whether it’s testing how you are doing honing to loaning you equipment to try!!
Keep up the good work!

I like them as well. Nice clean lines on the blades and the second set of scales are a delight. Good job.

Looks like your doing a mighty fine job. I'm more of a "Plane Jane" person but I do really like the red and black scales.

Mighty fine work on both. I like the simple yet elegant designs. They are finished nicely too. Well done.
