Oooh.. love the blue. Some time ago - last year? - a member posted a pic of another Duck that he'd soaked in Barbicide which turned it a nice pale pearly blue. I thought that was pretty cool but this is ever better. Great job!

The brass sits on top of the acrylic yes. Where they sit near the wedge is not a problem because it wraps just like original. There is a considerable amount of time spent sanding to fit and I also shape the brass somewhat to make to ends (like the pointed parts or duck bills) fit tight. You can feel the letters but I polished them after install and no grabbing. A rag might catch on those points but I have found that an edge lined with ca glue keeps that from happening. The whole trick ( I think is make sure the whole piece has an even coverage of ca glue when you put it down. I have had to lift some edges and put more glue under them to keep them down. I have some other tricks I am learning and have taken some videos that I may be able to edit together later. I take them now just so I remember what happened and why. I will try to take some close ups of what I think you want to see and post them. The cat is sleeping in my photo tent right now :<0)

I learned this from Glen's threads on transfering inlays .. http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...-gssixgun.html

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am glad some of you think this is an improvement on the original. I just figure plain old clear is boring and I bet if they had these colors back in the day they would have used them. With the Ducks I think they used about everything they could think of. Black tangs, Gold tangs, blue lettering, yellows and clears etc. I plan on making a 7 day set of Satinedges with 1 color for each day. 4 more to go. I am not in any hurry but that could change if I win the lotto :<0)

That is just plain awesome looking. If I may ask, where did you get the material to make the scales? Sorry if that seems like a question everyone should knpw the answer to, but I'm brand new to this. Thanks

10pups, my hat's off to you, good sir, for such a fine piece of work.

Between this and "Duck Under Glass", I'd say you're easily on your way to an awesome 7 day set.
