    Finally finished the restore on this. Now to hone it and shave with it tonight. Cocobolo scales...

    I would say this was a good ebay find. Blade has almost no hone wear.

    Very pretty! Do you have a before picture?

    Excellent job on the scales, I envy those! I might try making some with the same shape, only I do not have the same bolt/pin you used.

    The scales were purchased from Hart. I had to drill out the blade pin hole so the bolt/pin would fit

    Heh, I was going to say they looked a lot like Hart's scales, I thought you had used their's as inspiration

    I honed with Norton 1,4,8k, finished with a china 12k. Didn't like the finished edge. Went back to the 8k and tried a stone I recently picked up. I think it is a translucent arkie. It put a very nice mirror finish on the bevel. Then I went to balsa with paste and stropped on my linen and leather. Very nice shaver. Smooth cutting with a nice ring as it cuts the hair on my face..
