Thread: Latest Ebay gamble

Picked this Electric straight razor last month, gambled that the photos were just not very good. Mostly it just needed honed, polished, and rescaled. It had some over sized beat up fake ivory scales. I really like the faceted spine and toe, and the shoulderless grind.

I left all of the pitting instead of breaking out the wet and dry paper. I have no idea what the wood is but it is so oily that I just burnished the scales instead of polishing them after 2k w&d paper. Washer-less brass pins, Lexan wedge.

Looks nice....how does she shave?

Very well, two pass and plain water touchups BBS. Not as talkative as I am used to from similar grinds. The steel is rather hard and therefor a bit touchy on the hones. Shaves best with a light touch and low angle.

This is the only un-muted spike point I have used in a while and it has a habit of reminded me to pay attention. I have lost a little blood from both ears and my nose over the last five shaves.
