Thanked: 16My first attempts at the big boys!
I have recently restored 2 E. L. & Co. razors with "Manufactured for the United States by E.L.& Co." 1 is 9/8, the other 8/8. I have one original box with Edward Leon and company. They are done with ebony scales and brass washers and pins. The bottom is a WB FBU in horn. The ELs were true wedges and a pain to hone. The smaller one I had to use 4 layers of tape, but practice makes perfect and I was able to use 1 layer on the second. They all shave well, but it takes a while to used to the heft.

Thanked: 16I noticed in the pic the middle one looks smaller than the WB, but it is just the shadow on the bevel. The top one has domed washers from the bay and the second has domed washers that I made by using a nail set pushing them into a dimple on a steel blank.

Thanked: 1185fine group. I am still trying to get used to an 8/8 FBU.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
