Well the good news is that the original Razor turned up - even though we both assumed it was lost - so I'm going to do the same as originally planned.

As an amusing aside - when I started making the first set I sized the horn to required thickness, cut out the copper and used CA to join them overning in a vice. When I started cutting to shape, the horn and copper just fell apart - I'd forgotten to remove the protective film from the copper. From now on I rough up both surfaces.

If you don't mind how did you seal the copper liner to prevent it corroding and turning green over time?

Someone else suggested that a coating of varnish would help to prevent verdigris - to be honest I didn't consider that because the liners are accessible therefore a cotton bud with cleaning agent should be OK. The problem area as with any scales is likely to be round the pivot pin so some floss with the same cleaning stuff should be OK.

By the way, all of my razors are kept in a cabinet away from moisture - although this is no guarantee aganst corrosion, I don't have any problems so far.

Its the copper that set it way and above a lot of restorations. Beautiful work.

The use of floss comment to clean the pivot area is just another reason I love these SRP forums, the little comments and ideas that surface are endless
I looked at copper for wedge liners but stuck with brass because of this reason so the varnish also might be a good cover

Same here, great clean look plus like the "red" black contrast, as for sealing the copper, I think it'd be a good idea?

Exquisite! One question - how did you peen the pins sans washer without denting the horn? Just really slow and careful? I love the look and may try it myself.
