Full Hollow Damascus - Black Edition
I finished this little black devil today. The steel ist 1.2442/1.3505 again - its scratch in glas also after the heat treating. The etching is this time very dark and not really deep. I was afraid, that a longer bath in the acid could destroy the whole razor, because of the full hollow grind. I hope its possible to see also the "belly" I grinded in it.
The handle is from grenadil, also very dark but with some brown grain in it, so it match very well to the color of the blade. The wedge ist from mammoth ivory, all fixed together with some torx screws.
The edge has a lenght from 6,5 cm and the blade is a 7/8. The weight is 61 gramm.

Great grinding, I love the shape of the blade and scales together. It looks alive.

Whoa, that is stunning work!
That is just my kind of custom razor, and the grind is a welcomed change.
I wish more makers would do that!Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Your usual great work Gabor. The profile is very striking and the dark steel lends a bit of menace to it all. Love it.

Thanked: 1936My goodness that is gorgeous! I agree with the grind, it takes a true pro to get one that hollow. That razor looks organic, like it just "belongs"...nothing forced. Very, very nice!

The razor as a whole is beautiful but I really love the shape of those scales, and the way you've made it look when it's closed is fantastic!
Very well done!
You're giving it away, right? You never asked for my address, though...

A dark beauty indeed. By the looks of it you'd think the Devil commissioned it. Congrats on a magnificent job well done.
