Thiers Issaard
I have a yearning for a Thiers Issard and have found several on a website that features straights from $200 - $1000. My question is are all Thiers Issard's great razors? Does the price indicate the level of quality? I want to build a personal collection of high quality straights that keep their edge a shave great. Any thoughts?

The price has more to do with the size of the blade and how fancy the scales are, the shave quality should be pretty much the same on any of the modern TI's

Every TI I have ever had in my hands has been a quality blade. YOu are paying the big bucks for esthetics like mentioned above...which ads to the cool factor a LOT.

All are good, some better than others. Older - better, in my opinion. In terms of quality, styling and value. You can’t go wrong with old TI’s. Buy the best condition you can afford.
It does take some shopping nice ones can be hard to find. Been looking myself.

Always been more then happy with T.I. Great steel, great scales, edges hold up wonderfully and boy do they know how to polish a blade. Mirror x10

There is one more element in play with TIs and that is the grind. The bigger blades seem to be available in quarter hollow grinds while the 6/8 and down are full hollow. There is a difference there.

Mannnnnn I'm looking at the 7/8 Fendrihan line TI...I figure if I'm getting a french razor, I should get a french point on it

TI's are good. Is this a custom-built, or a restoration? Prolly should be posted under "Razors"
