    Default Dovo Fritz Bracht

I have recently found a Dovo with the Fritz Bracht engraved on the tang.
I have read that Mr. Bracht was one of the Dovo's owners between 50 and 60.
The blade got lots of oxidation and there's DOVO DIAMOND STEEL engraved on a face of the blade.

I need a suggestion. Have I to mirror finish and delete the engraving or not?

Thank you very much to everybody, and please would you excuse me for my bad English

That depends on how bad the corrosion is. Post a photo and we can advise you better. Fritz is a mighty good razor.

Thank you very much for your quick answer.
Hope the photo is readable. As you can see I've tried to cover the engraving to remove corrosion.
    Thank you again

What I do with blades such as that is polish them with q-tips and paper towels. I use Flitz, Semichrome or Maas. A polish such as that. These will remove gold wash but they will not take away the etching. Chances are they will leave a certain amount of oxidation but the alternative is sanding and buffing which will take away the etching. If I had that blade I would just use the metal polish and live with whatever oxidation was left behind.

Thank you very much. I think that I will follow your suggestion, because it's an old blade and I can't have everything...... LOL

    Thank you again
