Default My first restore: Wilh Mandt 6/8 in Green G10

Ok, here is my first completed restoration I hope you like it.

    Specs:

    Wilhelm Mandt Solingen
    Best Quality SIlversteel 6/8

    Scales are green G10
Pins Nickel/silver, Rivets outside SS, inside Brass.
Wedge was made from a piece of original scales. Think it is Bakelite but not 100% shure.

    As I bought it

And finished razor ready for sharpening.

There remain some scratches and pitting in the metal, but those stay in place as not to get the blade to thin or damage it.
    Thanks for watching

I like it! The visible quality of your work on the blade and its mirror finish are matched by the color and texture of the scales. Simply excellent! I look forward to seeing it in SOTD photographs

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

Very nice for your first. I have to use some of that texture technique someday it looks good on your scales.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

    Sharp eyes
Indeed I did. I made the heel sleeker. I like that shape.
    This was the before shape:

I also removed checkering on the spine in the direction of the pivot and made it to a mirror finish.

That's too good a first, now it will only get worse

Just kidding, I really like the result and the photography, the latter of which I recently got into. Goed gedaan!
