    Default w.h. sample and sons restore

    this is my first restore it wont have and shave able edge until after xmass I also know nothing about the make other than it comes from my home town so if anyone has any info about the blade I would appreciate that as well

    this is how it showed up it had half of one scale on it which broke off when I took it out of the box

    Welcome to SRP, W. H. Sample & sons was a manufacturer, jobbers,and retailer and wholesale store in Albany, New York on Pearl Street. Like many retails, hardware stores and barbers suply houses, more then likely this is a german razor made for them. Some others i came across had a Germany stamp on the other side or had Germany on the razor box.

    thanks martin103 you don't happen to have any dates of operation do you and if there was anything stamped on the other side it is long gone

    From this small article, the company was founded in 1871, the article was published in 1922. That said going by the blade only i would guess 1910-1920.

    oh nice im up in cp now but I was in Slingerlands for 5 years Niskayuna for ten and Schenectady before that lol

    Hi, very nice finish on the blade. I like it! And funny that you have drying the scales between to the Rapalas.

    Those are not rapalas I hand carve wooden cranks I also do jigs and spinners there all custom painted if you want I can message you my website and you can check em out
