Gorgeous - one like that will be my next razor buy, something outside my normal comfort zone.

What's your normal comfort zone, or what appeals to you about this type of razor (size/grind/markings etc)? There's a lot of less expensive alternatives I can point toward that I think are much more interesting than WB FBU actually.

I've always been interested in what it would be like to shave with a massive blade like that. I recently purchased a Revisor 8/8 full hollow from the Classifieds here, it's with Glen now getting honed, figuring I'd give it a try for a bigger blade.

Honestly, I admit that the brand, the legend, behind these razors is enticing in itself.

But I'd definitely be in interested in your thoughts on other alternatives.

    Thanks!

If you've got an 8/8 hollow on the way, there's not a whole lot of difference from the extra 1/8 inch. The big hollow ground WB tend to behave a little differently as they're still pretty thick hollow ground. If you're after the brand, then you just have to deal with the up-trend of WB pricing at the moment (the Celebrated razors consistently go for ridiculous amounts, but the standard FBU tend to go for less, and these are often found reground to hollow). There are other Barbers Use razors, such as Elliot, Greaves, Rodgers, etc; these often go high because of that extra stamp, but they are much less common in the market, and more interesting to me, and will certainly perform comparably. In any case, to find these it usually takes some diligence searching ebay.

They're fun, but my favorite size is still 6/8-7/8.

Very Nice. Not overdone and classy.

BTW, we never tire of seeing these!
