    Default J.R. Torrey 6/8 Restore:

Here's a fine example of an American made J.R. Torrey that I just finished. A real nice shaver...easy to hone and well balanced in the hand:

Thanks Martin! I figured you would 'catch me out on the scales'...LOL! I have a real nice set of Torrey Scales that I restored (they look like a finger bone in faux ivory)... BUT...I really liked the look and feel of these scales on this particular razor, and at least they are somewhat 'period correct'. Probably from a little earlier on in the 20th century actually...

These scales are actually from a trashed 'Tower Brand' razor by J.S. Holler. The blade was no good but I was able to do a real nice restore on the scales.

I think they really 'fit' this Torrey well!

Martin-Here's a close up of the 'Tower' depicted on the scales:

They both look really good, I was going to ask if the scales were original to the Torrey.
I think your spot on with them, they look at home on the Torrey.
