Great work as usual Brad…choice of material, shape and all. The inlayed 3rd pin is a really nice touch as well.

very nice! I short question about the inlay though, did you make it afterwards (I'm guessing its "molded" with epoxy?), is it justg an inlay or doses it go through bothe the scales and the inlay actually functions as the third pin?

It goes right through and "functions" as a third pin. Although, the wedge end of the scales actually stop the blade just barely before it makes contact with the 3rd pin. See pic:
